Here are the steps that do to fix, you can jump to the final solution!ġ- downloaded both driver package and firmware from here: Ģ- Uninstalled old driver form window (add/remove program) then installed new driver then tried to install new firmware FwUpdateTool1906.exeģ- did not work there was an error in command prompt: 0X20D_SDK_ INVALID_OPERATION_IN_SAFE_MODEĤ- uninstalled Lenovo provided driver from add/remove programs and Installed Intel version: Ĥ- Download new Intel Thunderbolt driver here: ĥ- In updated the Thunderbolt driver from device manager to the new Intel version (Step 4)Ħ- Tried updating the firmware from Lenovo provided package: FwUpdateTool1906 did not work again!!!ħ- Tried FwUpdateTool.exe This one worked! no error and a window came to flash the firmware:
